The Lad from Laghey - Bealtaine 2017 in Áislann Chill Chartha

Bealtaine is an annual festival which celebrates and promotes creativity in older age during the month of May and is one of the highlights of the Cultural Services Calendar and to celebrate it Donegal County Library Service present a free play in Áislann Chill Chartha.

A brand new play, set in South Donegal during World War II, by Dublin based playwright Michael Harnett. Set in a time when German U Boats are sited off the Donegal coast and RAF seaplanes thunder through the Donegal Corridor over Dunkineely and St. John’s Point. A local girl complains that, “everything is rationed, including decent young men”. Things begin to look up however when she meets a visiting young British airman at a dance in Bundoran…
